3G Express Cards Finally Coming

Verizon yesterday announced availability of the first 3G data card for laptops with Express/34 or 54 slots. The V640 is a Novatel XV630 card that comes with Verizon's VZAccess Manager software. It has both EV-DO Rel. 0 and 1xRTT data capability. Dell began selling this card a few weeks ago as the 5700, however that model uses different software. The V640 software is compatible with new MacBook Pros, which feature an Express Card slot. Novatel also has an HSDPA Express Card, which PC Magazine was able to preview. The XU870 features quad band EDGE as well as tri-band HSDPA -with signal strength better than any of Cingular's 3G phones. Cingular has not announced if or when this card will launch on their network.

This is just another one of the ways we like to say "We're the Best".

Once HSDPA/UPA is up and running on a decent scale we wont need no wimpy "Express Cards".
Ohhh, that was low. I apologize to the rest of you out there that do.
Previewed these a month ago..
Sweet
Apparently some customer told me once he had found an adapter for PCI Express to standard PCI, never seen it though.
