LG Reveals VX-8600

LG this week let slip details of its forthcoming VX-8600 phone for Verizon Wireless. The sleek black clamshell phone packs most of the features of the VX-8500 Chocolate into a thinner clamshell form factor. Compared to the 8500, the 8600 has a lower-resolution display, but retains all other key features, including stereo Bluetooth, EVDO high-speed data, a megapixel camera, microSD memory card slot, music player, and external touch controls. No official information about pricing or release date was available.

so since this phone is officially out, who has played with it? and how do u like it?
i have checked it out and personally like it more than the krzr b/c it fits in my hand much better.
plus both of the screens are bigger. another thing is that u can access music without opening up the phone (u can do this almost exactly like on the chocolate), i haven't found out how to do this on the krzr.
the camera isn't great, but what do u want from a cell phone? of course its way past due having 2.0 standard cams.

You can expect to see this phone within the next 14 days. It's almost a definite guarantee. The rebate slips have arrived at the stores and they are dated for 10-22...and they expire 11-26. Sooooooo...umm ya....and a vice president apparently sent an underground email to someone stating that the phone would DEFINITELY be out within the next two weeks.
Me personally, I'm thinking that it will be out either this Saturday, Sunday, or next Tuesday. Will be able to pinpoint release date a little better once we see whether or not the stores get the shipment of the phones this Friday.

Where did you here this information from? Because i have a heard a lot of false release dates and i want to know ow soon it is coming out so i know if i am going to get this phone or not.

Someone stated on the VZW forum today that it's Nov 15th, $129 after rebates on a 2 year.
I know Best Buy likes to street date their phones on Sunday (when the beginning of the new ad opens.) Every single one of my co-workers are excited for this phone plus they're bringing back front-face text reading.

I was looking at images of this phone on other website, and the date shown is October 7. Is it possible that will be the date it is released? My VZW contract expires on October 28 so I want to be able to get this phone by then.

FM Radio
The european version of this phone has a FM radio does anyone know if the verizon version has that feature.
I doubt it, from all the specs I've seen I haven't read anything about Verizon keeping the radio.

Music player question
I have an 8100 which will play both mp3s through a hidden player, and wma's through the preferred Verizon player. I use the wma version since I can make playlists, however the playlists can only be 25 songs long (and you have to make them from the phone, not your computer). Anyone know if this new version will allow you to use mp3s with playlists, or have longer playlists with the Verizon, WMA version? Anyone know the same about the 8300? That might answer my question, since it seems that this phone will have the same system (?) as the 8300?

Krzr vs VX-8600
I really need a new phone and would like to get a thin/small one. Basically I'm just waiting for either one of these phones to come out. IS there any big advantage on getting one over the other? (Besides the fact that LG sucks MOTO rules or vice versa đ¤Ŗ )
the lg will be shorter/thinner, moto will be longer, more narrow. LG will have flash interface, whereas the moto won't.

well with motorola, i had excellent luck with the batteries, but then i turn off the un-neccessary features like key tones, animation, and i lower my back lighting. it soots me at least.
