The Motorola Z9 is the slider version of the RAZR2 series. This capable phone brings style--and sheer size--to Motorola's slider line-up. It conquers multimedia functions, but is it a good phone?
The Motorola Z9 is the slider version of the Motorola RAZR2 line of phones launched last year. This one is for AT&T and brings with it the newer Motorola design language. If sliders are your thing, the Z9 is a capable, if colossal, option out there.

idk wat phone i should get the motorola z9 or the lg shine
can anyone help me decide wat phone to get AND WHY? PLEASE AND THANK U
If i had to pick from those 2 phones (the z9 or the shine) I'd definitely go with the z9. LG makes good phones but if you go to the store and look very closely at the build quality of the phone, it's less than impressive. Also, if you have the opportu...

Stuck
First off--Great review & thanks. I been anticipating this phone for some time but after I seen it and played with it some I just don't know. I have had my V3XX for about a year and a half now. Im really disappointed that the OS is virtually the same...no change in menu items etc. I'm just having difficulty with the pro's & con's. Just seems like the perfect phone will never exist lol.
i think for most people the perfect phone right now is the N95... what don't you like about the N95?
What happen to video?
😕
i like it.
i've played with it in our store since it released. seems moto got it right this time! i haven't noticed the signal issue but i haven't left the store with it. my main gripe is soemthing i shouldn't gripe about, and that is the java restrictions at&t puts on it's newer phones and that the programs at&t put on the phone can't be deleted, like billboard mobile, mobile tv, etc...
No signal issues here either, I'm not in a 3G area so I can't say anything about the 3G signal, but Edge signal has been fantastic.
Music as ringtones
Just as a note...you CAN use your music as a ringtone, but you have to cut it down to 29 seconds or less. I don't know why AT&T puts this limit on the phone, as "unlocked" Z9's (and RAZR2 V9's) don't have this limit. It IS possible to edit this and turn off the limit, though, but you have to know a little about modding your phone (google it, you'll find out which sites tell you how...I've done it).
Yes, the reason I couldn't use my own songs as ringtones is because they are all 4+ minutes in length.
