Apple Delivers iPhone
Jan 9, 2007, 1:07 PM by (staff)
Apple today kicked off MacWorld by announcing the highly anticipated smartphone. The iPhone is a slim, 11.3 mm thick, bar shaped device that only has a touchscreen and speaker on the front. On the back is simply a 2 megapixel camera. The phone is controlled through the screen, which features a multi-touch interface that allows you to press and slide controls with multiple fingers at once. The device features quad-band GSM/EDGE, a 2 Megapixel camera, 8 GB memory, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. There is an accelerometer built in that automatically senses orientation and switches the screen to match. The iPhone runs a slimmed down version of OS X with applications for music and full screen video playback, a web browser and phone related applications including calling and messaging.

ATT giving 1 1/2 years for new uphone purchasers Free!
In essence, this would substantially lower the perceived price of the iPhone, providing a great incentive for early adopters.
