Google's Advanced Protection Now Secures Apple iOS Apps

Google today said it has extended its Advanced Protection Program to iOS users. The program, which first launched last year, offers an extra level of account protection for those who are at risk of attacks or hacks. The service is intended for use by people like journalists, activists, business leaders, political campaign teams, and others. Google says the native Apple Mail, Calendar, and Contacts apps are now protected, allowing iOS users to enroll in the program without forcing them to use Google's apps. Google said it hopes to expand the service to more apps over time. The Advanced Protection Program goes beyond two-factor authentication and requires a physical Security Key to sign back into your account after you've logged out, or when you sign in to a new device. It also blocks fraudulent account access. iOS users can enroll via Google's web site.
