Startup OSOM has started teasing its first phone, the OV1. The phone will generally be privacy-focused and details released so far include very high-end materials and potentially high-end specs. One unique detail is the included "Privacy Cable", which has a built-in switch to turn off data, letting you safely charge from an untrusted charger or public charging station. The Privacy Cable will also be available for purchase separately. The OV1 phone "will be based on a Snapdragon 8 series chipset." The company says this is a change from its original plans, which will delay the phone's release until the the fourth quarter of 2022. The company also revealed that the phone will have 48- and 12-megapixel cameras on the rear, and a 16 megapixel front camera. The front will be Corning Victus glass while the back will be made from zirconia ceramic, available in Polished White or Matte Black. The frame will be stainless steel, with titanium around the camera.
