UMA

So what exactly do you have to do for UMA to work?

The company I work for gives TMO phones out to some for business. And I've been shown that they pick up a Wi-Fi network (SGH-339). Although when I pick up the same network with my laptop I'm unable to connect.

So I've heard for this to work you have to pay for hotspot@home. But on the other hand some make it sound as if any Wi-Fi network will work?

So what's going on in the back ground?
Does the software on the phone verify you have hotspot@home on you account, do you need a password to the network, do you need a TMO router, or could I buy my own TMO phone and use my workplace's Wi-Fi for free? 😕
u only need the hotspot@home if u want it for unlimited calling


if u dont have that feature it will just use ur normal mins

You need a UMA phone. That much is certain.

On the access point side, it's easiest with a T-Mobile Wi-Fi router in your home, but you can use other wi-fi networks, IF - and only if - they are specifically set up for it. It does require special UMA ...

Question on Video of BB 8900

In the opening of the video, Eric says it looks a lot more like the BB Storm.

Did he mean the BB Bold for AT&T? Since the BB 8900 has the same form factor as the Bold and the Storm is the all touch screen phone.

Just curious. . . 😕
i have used the blackberry 8900 it is nto bad it is pritty good the wifi is not the best and the blackberry 8900 is not 3g yet lol

but as i was told that they will be inproving it over the next month as for it comes out this weekend on the 1...

Obviously it has a keyboard, but no, it wasn't a mistake. The styling is much more like the Storm than anything else. The chrome sides... the black glossary front that curves over the top as well, hiding two top buttons... the styling is all very Stor...
