May 2, 2008, 1:41 PM by Eric M. Zeman
T-Mobile will launch its W-CDMA 3G network beginning next week. The company will make a formal announcement and provide details on what markets the network will initially be available in. T-Mobile will also spell out which devices can access the 1700 MHz AWS spectrum the company purchased from the FCC in August 2006. The company said that both voice and data services will be supported on its 3G network at launch.

I look forward to harnessing the power of t-mo 3G.
Of course, I am with AT&T, however, it would seem strange that T-Mo wouldn't launch 3G in ABQ, as there are still considerably more T-Mobile users in ABQ than AT&T users, although that is slowly balancing out now....

T-mobile? oh. 2001. I'd say Sprint had a little head start on T-mobile eh?
big phone
power hungry (1200mA/h offers an hour of talking)
very expensive (forget about unlimited data)
now 3G is very affordable broadband alternative
it's worth to wait
the coverage is almost complete in NYC (at least everywhere I am), the connection is alot more stable (perhaps it's still in early stage, only a few users on 3G)
it's worth to wait
I never used at&t UMTS, that I can't compare, but it's as good as CSL in Hong Kong

FINALLY!
Seriously though, this is great news for TMO, and for their customers. I can't believe the government made us all wait this long though! 2 years, but finally we have 3G.
As far as I'm concerned this will put TMO up there with the two big ones... Hell, I've been of that opinion for a while though I guess... they may not have the most customers, but they are number 2 and number 1 rated respectively by consumer reports and jd powers. so now they will rock even more.
and it's VERY FIRST HSDPA phone
WAY TO GO, SONY ERICSSON!!! π
