BlackBerry Pearl Series Gets Google Maps Voice Search
Jul 6, 2008, 8:33 PM by Eric M. Zeman
Users of the BlackBerry Pearl 8110, 8120, and 8130 can now perform searches using their voices rather than keying in queries when in Google Maps. The technology uses the same speech-recognition engine as Google's voice mobile search product. Now, with Google Map for Mobile running, you can perform a voice search and get local results for restaurants, points of interest, and other locations. The service is in an experimental stage, but is available immediately for the BlackBerry Pearl in the U.S.
