The Sanyo Katana Eclipse - a thin clamshell phone expected to launch soon with Sprint - has gone on sale up north with Bell Canada. The phone was recently approved by the FCC, revealing a sketch and some info about the phone. Bell's page for the Eclipse reveals photos and additional details, including that the camera will be 1.3 megapixel with video capture, and the Bluetooth will be version 2.0+EDR with A2DP (stereo) support. The microSD card slot will support cards up to 8 GB.

Going on sale very soon at Sprint...

They arrived yesterday and I believe they will be allowed to be sold starting Monday. The screen is small and low res though! A MAJOR drawback but at least you get 2 strips of changeable flashing LED's along the front... A total teenager phone that cares more about flash than substance.

Pics at Bell Canada website not correct

When looking at the pics on the Bell Canada website, it appears that pic showing the face of the phone is not actually the Eclipse, but rather the original Katana.

There are no external mp3 controls or LED lights on Bell Canada's pic.
