FCC Set to Make White Space Decision
Oct 10, 2008, 1:01 PM by Eric M. Zeman
The Federal Communications Commission is prepared to publish a report that provides detailed data of years' worth of testing of the unlicensed use of white space spectrum. At issue is the unlicensed use of the spectrum. The issue has many proponents and opponents. Network operators such as T-Mobile contend that using white space spectrum could lead to interference issues with its cellular network. Others, such as Google, want to see the airwaves opened up for use by anyone. The report is due as early as today.
