Skype for Symbian Graduates to 1.0

Skype for Symbian has graduated from its beta state and been updated to version 1.0. Skype 1.0 offers improved compatibility with a greater number of Symbian handsets, and fixes a number of bugs. The application allows for calling over 3G or Wi-Fi. It's a free download.

Too little, too late

If Nimbuzz and Fring hadn't already developed Skype capabilities, this might stand a chance. As it stands, both of those offer vastly superior performance coupled with all of your social networks in one, plus video calls.
Skype may as well have not bothered at this point.
