A number of organizations have responded to the recent earthquake in Chile by setting up SMS shortcodes to accept donations. Text Chile to 23583 to donate $10 to Habitat for Humanity, 20222 to donate $10 to World Vision, or 52000 to donate $10 to the Salvation Army. According to the Mobile Giving Foundation, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless are all supporting these codes. The MGF expects more carriers and codes to support donations soon.
Nice idea
Sounds good, nothing at all wrong. While everyone is at it, text the corrupt governments of these countries as well. Send books as well in their native languages, "How to run a Government and treat your citizens for Dummies".
is a modern democratic country. They were prepared for this earthquake and have the resources to deal with it.
That said, this is a whopping arse earthquake.
You might want to do a little research about Chile before you go on a silly rant 🙄
too bad...
I would love to send money to help these people, too bad I pay almost 30% of my salary as taxes. I guess giving drug addicts welfare is more important to uncle Sam than allowing me to help the truly needy.
If you believe in giving tithe, these destinations are a great option instead of giving to your church.
