Today Kyocera introduced the Zio M6000, the first handset from the Japanese maker of cell phones to run Android. The Zio will ship with Android version 1.6. The Zio is a tri-band CDMA EVDO Rev. A handset, supporting the 800/1700/1900MHz bands. That makes it compatible with networks operated by Sprint, Verizon, and smaller carriers such as Cricket. Other radios include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (with A2DP) and GPS. It has a 3.5-inch, capacitive, WVGA screen with 800 x 480 pixels. The Zio features a 3.2 megapixel camera with dedicated camera key and video capture at 30 frames per second. Other features include a digital compass, accelerometer, and support for microSD cards up to 32GB. Kyocera did no say if or when any U.S. carriers will offer the Zio.
