T-Mobile today provided an update on its rollout of HSPA+ 3.75G network. The upgraded network is now live in "much"of the NYC area and western suburbs of Washington, DC, in addition the already-announced Philadelphia upgrades. The next city to be upgraded will be LA. The company plans to offer HSPA+ in 100 metro areas by the end of 2010. The network upgrades include upgrading backhaul connections to fiber (or equivalent) at 20,000 cell sites. 10,000 cell sites have already been upgraded, providing faster data to existing 3G users as well. The company also plans to introduce its first HSPA+ phones in the second half of 2010.
