Skyhook has announced that it will provide its Core Location service on a number of Motorola's Android devices. Different from the default Google software, Skyhook's system also uses data from Wi-Fi hotspots, in addition to cellular towers and GPS satellites. Skyhook's service is also used on other smartphones, notably the Apple iPhone.
