Nokia today announced the long anticipated Nokia N8 smartphone. The N8 is a tablet style smartphone running the new Symbian^3 operating system, the first phone to run the new Symbian OS. The phone will use a 12 megapixel sensor in the camera, and the N8 will be able to record and even edit HD-quality videos. The device can playback HD-quality video with Dolby Digital Plus surround sound when the N8 is attached to a home theater system. The new S^3 OS allows for multitouch, as well, including flick scrolling pinch-and-zoom gestures, and the N8 has a capacitive touch screen. The phone will be available in select markets in Q3 2010, and PhoneScoop recently reported on a similar device clearing the FCC's approval process.
This phone is amazing but....
If any carrier did not take this phone in his lineup he will not pass or be more popular that the iphones or adroid phones
Wow. Really?
You think this phone will be no competiton to the iPhone or Android?

Agreed. Anything over 2 megapixels is wasted online, and really, where are most pictures taken with a phone going to go? More megapixels only help for enlargements when printing photos. If I want to take a picture for an 8x10 or larger, I'll use my di...

I had a Nokia N82 with a 5 MP camera. While the file size of the photos were smaller than with a larger sensor stand alone 5 MP camera, the xenon flash made all the difference compared to an LED flash cameraphone. I currently carry a Nexus One and, wh...

Your argument is noted. And no one cares. This debate was firey 5 years ago. Nokia used better optics, glass lenses and other software to enhance the photo, and their camera modules have always been top notch. And.. everyone hypes their phones with ma...

5 bands on 3G...
T-Mobile? AT&T? Take your pick for 3G. That is the new standard all GSM phones should aspire to. Not having to pick carrier before picking device. Nokia leads the way
Im pretty sure its only on T-mobiles 3g band and ATT's 2g band.
