Swype today announced a new beta version of Swype for the Android platform. The new version of the software offers a sweeping number of improvements over the original beta. According to Swype, the new version now automatically inserts apostrophes into contractions; has better sensitivity of the magic button; has fixed auto-spacing problems; and will now avoid adding passwords to the user dictionary. It also has a wide number of bug fixes, offers an updated dictionary, added support for Italian, and fixed a handful of licensing problems. Swype suggests that Swype beta users completely uninstall the previous build of Swype beta and the Swype beta installer from their Android devices before downloading and installing the new beta. The software is available for free.
