Motorola Confirms 2GHz Phone Plans

Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha recently said that the company plans to bring a handset to market by the end of the year powered by a 2GHz processor. Motorola spokesperson Juli Burda has confirmed for Phone Scoop that this is indeed fact, and the company will introduce a handset with a 2GHz processor in board later this year. Neither Jha nor Burda provided any more information about the device. Many of today's high-end smartphones are powered by 1GHz chips, with some of them coming from Qualcomm. Qualcomm has publicly announced plans to introduce 1.5GHz Snapdragon processors (SnapDragon dual-core QSD8672, for example), but hasn't said anything about 2GHz processors yet.
