AT&T's Launch Day iPhone Stock Sold Out
Jun 15, 2010, 5:32 PM by Eric M. Zeman
AT&T has confirmed that online pre-orders of the iPhone 4 have chewed through its entire planned inventory of the iPhone 4 for the June 24 launch day. In a statement, AT&T said, "Because of the incredible interest in iPhone 4, today was the busiest online sales day in AT&T history. As of Tuesday afternoon, customers who pre-order iPhone 4 moving forward will receive their device on June 25 or later, depending on when the order is placed. We'll email customers with confirmation once their order is placed, and again when it ships. In addition, we will have devices available on a first-come, first-serve basis in our stores beginning on June 24." AT&T reiterated that there will be some unallocated iPhones on hand that users may be able to get on launch day. Both AT&T and Apple's online ordering systems suffered from overload today as people attempted to pre-order the iPhone 4.

Not unusual for a phone to be sold out on the release date.
How many EVOs sold all together so far?
iPhone question
I have a 3GS and I am not yet elegible to upgrade. My wife has the 2G and is elegible.
I want to use the new iPhone 4 when it arrives and she would be thilled with my 3GS. Can I easily re-assign my 3GS to her profile and sync the iPhone 4 so I can use it? Is this a pretty simple process? No swapping of sim cards... since they are different.
Thanks again to all for any assistance / insight offered.

AT&T Really does Suck
I went in late here at the local store in Arizona and they told me that because I have 2 lines both iPhones I can only upgrade 1 of them and if I wanted to upgrade the 2nd someone else would have to come in...WTF!!!
There under my NAME no one else's. Than they preceded to tell me that they can not take debit cards that it has to be an actual credit card. POS...of course they started to give me this lame excuse about how other people have tried selling the phones and how credit card debited the account and than reauthorized once its actually shipped; and that some people have taken the money out of there accounts only to have the charge declined...as I said to the clerk...do I look like everyone else? Of co...

You've crashed AT&T's system, you've crashed Apple's system, and you won't stop calling us and beaching at us because you can't order your "precious" RIGHT NOW. So thanks for all the hassle today. Really. :rol

This isn't surprising, a lot of high-end/high demand smartphones have been selling out fast. First it was the HD2, then the Incredible, then the Evo 4G, and now the Iphone 4.
