Sony Ericsson Announces Xperia X8 and Cedar

Sony Ericsson today announced two new devices, the Xperia X8 and Cedar. Both handsets will become available in select markets during the third quarter.
- X8:This addition to the Xperia line of devices carries forward the same user interface seen on Sony Ericsson's other Android devices such as the X10 Mini. It has a 3.2 megapixel camera with video capture and direct Facebook uploading; stereo Bluetooth; support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync; and Sony Ericsson's TimeScape and MediaScape software. The X8 supports quad-band GSM/EDGE and there will be one version supporting HSPA 800/1900/2100MHz. Other hardware features include GPS, a 3-inch capacitive touch display, and Wi-Fi.
- Cedar: This candybar GreenHeart handset has a 2 megapixel camera with VGA video capture; an FM radio; Bluetooth; Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync; 3.5mm headset jack; and social networking applications. It supports quad-band GSM/EDGE frequencies and one version will come with support for HSDPA 850/1900/2100MHz. It is made with recycled materials and comes with a low-power charger.
