Clearwire and Sprint Blanket Three More Cities With WiMax

Clearwire and Sprint today announced that they are now providing WiMax network services the the markets of St Louis, Salk Lake City, and Richmond, Va. These markets join a growing footprint of cities being served by WiMax across the U.S.

I'd much rather see existing coverage areas improved...or better yet completed. An island here and there that looks like swiss cheese does not equal availability in a market.

I live in Las Vegas, and wimax is covered here pretty well, Henderson is kinda spotty. But Las Vegas is covered pretty well, the strip, even the far westside of town is. I'm speaking from first hand experience here.

I find it interesting that LA is still on the futures list. I was in LA at the beginning of the month & had full use of the 4G network with my Sprint Overdrive. I guess they are still testing or adding more towers before making it official.

Rochester and Syracuse New York Next?

I have been getting a 4G signal on the Evo but no access yet. I have been told July 11th.

I'm very excited to see this becoming reality. Whether it is LTE or WiMAX, this is great news for wireless consumers.
