Research In Motion today announced the availability of BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0.2. The latest enterprise software from RIM offers a handful of new features for BlackBerry users. Features relevant to end-users include a new capability that will allow IT admins to remotely remove only the corporate data from an employee-owned BlackBerry while leaving personal data and apps untouched. It includes a new self-servicing feature that will let end-users log into BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager and remotely lock the device or reset their password. BlackBerry Desktop Manager now supports more browsers, including Google Chrome 4.0, Internet Explorer 8, Mozilla Firefox 3.6 and Safari 4. Last, BES 5.0.2 includes a single sign-on, which will let both end-users and admins sign into the BlackBerry service once and gain access to BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager and BlackBerry Administration Service without having to re-enter usernames and passwords.
