Dell Confirms Streak Launching August 13 for $299

Dell today announced that the Streak Android tablet device will be available for pre-register starting Thursday, August 12, and will go on sale starting Friday, August 13. The Streak will cost $299 on contract, or $549 without. The Streak has a 5-inch display, 5 megapixel camera, 1GHx processor, 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. It will ship with Android 1.6, but Dell says that the Streak will be updated to Android 2.2 later this year.
