Google has indicated that so many developers rushed to purchase the Nexus One Android handset via its developer channel that its entire inventory is sold out and the phone is on backorder from HTC.

NOT just developers buying it. It's only $15 to register as a developer...

People who still want the N1 are willing to pay this dev fee just to buy N1. Google pulled the plug too early on N1.
