Google App Update for BlackBerry Adds Docs & Gmail Search

Google today provided an update to its Google Search application for BlackBerries. The revised software offers two major new features. It can search users' online Gmail and Contacts databases for messages and contact details. This extends beyond the previous version's limitation to searching only on the device itself. It also will allow BlackBerry users to search through their Google Docs that are stored online. Google says that these searches are protected by encryption to make sure user data is kept safe in transit. The new BlackBerry search application is a free download from Google.
