AOL today announced that its Winamp media player for Google's Android platform has graduated from beta status and is now available to the general public. The media player application features the ability to sync content between a PC and Android device wirelessly via Wi-Fi. It also works seamlessly with Apple's iTunes software, syncs changes between PC and device automatically, offers persistent player controls, and allows users to tune in to SHOUTcast Radio. Winamp for Android also offers information about the song, artist or album currently being played, as well as scrobbling with the Last.fm app (if installed). AOL said that support for podcasts and tablet-style devices is on the way. Winamp for Android is a free download from the Android Market.
