Google today announced that the Android Market now supports direct carrier billing for the AT&T network. Users of Android devices on AT&T's network can now make purchases in the Android Market and have the purchases charged to their monthly bill, rather than use another payment vehicle such as a credit card. Google says the update is being rolled out gradually, and users will notice the carrier billing feature with the new version of the Android Market. T-Mobile also supports direct billing in the Android Market. Sprint and Verizon Wireless have not announced plans for Android Market billing support, but Google said it is still working to partner with more carriers.

C. What are these charges on my bill?

Me: "we'll ma'am it seems as if the line ending in **** purchased a few applications and billed them to your account."
C: "i never gave authorization for those charges!"
Me: "the terms were located in the details of the application."
C: "shouldnt this be covered by the data plan?"
Me: "no ma'amm, these charges were billed separately, not directly from AT&T."
C: "well im not paying for it."

*facepalm*
