A company called H-W Technology has filed a massive law suit against 32 mobile technology companies over a 2009 patent it was rewarded concerning mobile application stores. The suit names Apple, RIM, Motorola, LG, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Microsoft, HTC, Amazon, Google, Expedia, Verizon, Kyocera, and others. The patent pertains to how cell phones access and gather "information and offers from merchants, and complete a transaction with one of said merchants without having to generate a voice call." The lawsuit calls out a number of specific devices, including the iPhone, BlackBerry Torch, Motorola Droid X, HTC Thunderbolt and others. H-W says that it has suffered monetary damages as a result of the companies' actions and is demanding an injunction and unspecified damages.

it makes about as much sense as patenting the way our body language is interpreted when we wish to add emphasis to a statement or say something with out verbalizing it.
So these fools "invented" online shopping... in 2009
