Nokia today announced via its Ovi blog that it is now migrating its Ovi Mail service from its own platform to Yahoo's web mail platform. Nokia believes this move will offer better features for Nokia device users, and it supports features such as chat and other Yahoo services. Nokia notes that it will take several weeks to migrate all the data, and users might not see all their contacts and/or emails appear at once.

M$?

Why not go with MSN/Hotmail I thought Nokia was getting in with Micro$oft???
The deal with Yahoo! was worked out before the deal with Microsoft. It'd be interesting to see if they try and move Ovi services to the Microsoft platform as soon as the contract with Yahoo! ends.

Bye bye

I just terminated my Ovi account. I don't like Yahoo. I've been a long-time Nokia fan, but they seem to do everything they can to push me away. I'll stick with my N900 for a while, but the longer it takes Nokia to produce a nice new Windows smartphone, the more likely I am to switch to Android and never look back...
I doubt you'll never look back, things are hardly all sunshine and roses in the Android world, for starters there's the whole 'malware in Android market' thing.

Bottom line is whatever platform you're on, there are going to be problems.
