In conjunction with the release of the LG Thrive Android smartphone, AT&T rolled out new data plan options for its GoPhone pre-paid service. It has a new offering of 500MB for $25 month. It has also boosted the allotment for its other data plans, offering 10MB for $5 per month and 100MB for $15 per month. These plans include access to AT&T's network of Wi-Fi hotspots. These data plans must be paired with the smartphone $0.10 per minute plan or smartphone $2 per day unlimited talk and text plan. AT&T has also decreased overage fees from $0.01/Kb to $0.01/5Kb.

$0.01 per 5kb

That's still about $2.05 per MB

PagePlus and other have it down to like $0.60/MB or so
That is crazy. What is the point of owning a android phone if you can't enjoy android. Which means you need more than 500mb for $25.

They are going in the right direction though! 🙂

For the same $25, I can get Virgin Beyond Talk with 300 mins and messaging and internet.
Optimus Virgin is a decent basic Android phone.
