The European Commission today voted on legislation that would require local European governments to allow wireless network operators to offer 4G services, such as Long Term Evolution or WiMax, on the 900/1800MHz bands. By the end of the year, the Commission wants to refarm the 900MHz and 1800MHz bands to support GSM, EDGE, and now LTE/WiMax. Many European operators already use 900/1800 for their 2G/3G services. The vote in effect allows network operators to use the spectrum that they already have for advanced services rather than force them to purchase more. Germany is already using 800MHz for LTE, and Norway and Sweden are using 2.6GHz for LTE. Moving forward, quad-band devices may include 2G, 3G, and/or 4G in the 900/1800 bands.

Typo: It's the 900/1800MHz bands

Typo in this article; source is correct.
I'm sick of articles about Europe!

Nokia & Sony Ericsson abandoned the U.S. market, so when it comes to wireless, screw Europe!
