Samsung D600 Earns FCC Approval for CDMA, Wi-Fi, WiMax

Documents seen on the Federal Communications Commission web site reveal details about an unannounced handset from Samsung. The Samsung D600 is the second handset approved by the FCC with CDMA in the ESMR band (817-824MHz and 862-869MHz) and CDMA in Sprint's 1900MHz PCS band. The D600 follows the M380, approved earlier this month, as a CDMA phone that will work on both Sprint's 800MHz and 1900MHz spectrum when Sprint starts transitioning its iDEN service to CDMA service in the ESMR band. Further, the FCC also confirms that the D600 includes support for WiMax and Wi-Fi. The presence of WiMax and Wi-Fi, typically reserved for smartphones, suggest that the D600 will be relatively high-end when compared to the M380. The FCC documents don't reveal much else, and Samsung hasn't published details about this device.

If it's a high-end phone, and it's not iDen, then it won't be going to Boost. Remember, we get the scraps from the table, not the buffet.
