Apple recently began selling unlocked iPhones through its web site. The 16GB iPhone 4 costs $649 and the 32GB iPhone 4 costs $749. Both are available in black and white. Only the GSM version is being sold unlocked. It can be purchased and used on the GSM network of the user's choice, though it only supports AT&T's 3G bands in the U.S.
Great News for Prepaid users
AT&T made a killing on iPhone plans. With an official "unlocked" phone then people can use the iPhone on a prepaid plan and not have to pay over $100 a month to use it. T-Mobile users can use it with the $50 unlimited talk, text and internet plan (prepaid) and because it is limited to 2G they don't have to worry about the 200MB limit of high speed data.

A dirty company
Apple has been caught selling used iPad 2 at full retail price. What got them caught up is that they duplicated the serial # and MEID # from iPad2 that other people already had. So now Apple have to recall all the iPads that were cloned and supposedly be brand new but are used back to ship a replacements out.
Otherwise it sounds like you are repeating some bs you've heard out of spite at apple and their success.

Because AT&T is trying to gobble up T-Mobile, the 2nd largest GSM carrier in the US. Really, it's almost like... what's the point?
