Nokia today revealed that it has created an HTML5 version of Nokia Maps, which may be accessed through the browser of devices running Android 2.2 and 2.3, and iOS, such as the iPhone and iPad. This browser-based web app allows users to pinpoint their position on a map; search for addresses and points of interest; plan driving/walking routes; view public transportation routes and stops; and share favorite locations via SMS, email, Facebook or Twitter. According to Nokia, Nokia Maps (beta) also presents information in a concise web page that includes pictures, reviews, and contact details. The beta web app is free for Android and iOS devices to use.
