RIM Updates WebWorks for Smartphones Developer Tools

Research In Motion announced the availability of WebWorks for Smartphones version 2.1.1. This update adds more tools that can be used by developers to create WebWorks applications for BlackBerry smartphones. Some of the new components include a BlackBerry OS 7 simulator; a WebKit-based inspector for WebWorks apps; an API for the microphone; and a JavaScript tool that automates the Gears-to-HTML5 conversion for devices running BlackBerry OS 5.x. The tools can be downloaded from RIM's developer web site.
