AT&T announced today that it will launch its Long Term Evolution network on Sunday, September 18. The announcement was made by AT&T CFO John Stephens during the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Media conference. The LTE network will initially be available in just five markets: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. AT&T already sells several LTE-capable devices, including laptop dongles and the HTC JetStream Android tablet. AT&T hasn't announced any LTE phones yet. AT&T expects to deploy LTE in 15 markets by the end of the year, covering 70 million POPSs.

so my iPhone 4G will work right?

🙄

For the people who can't detect sarcasm..I'm kidding.
What's sad is I hear that all too often. It's the fourth iPhone, that doesn't mean it's 4G. All the letters and numbers confuse people X_X
LOL 🤣

But on a serious note, I'm highly disappointed that both At&t and Verizon didn't include the SF Bay Area/Silicon Valley in their initial launches of LTE.

AT&T Launching LTE on September 18

🤣 Can't wait to see the "Blue" map showing AT&T's incredible 4G LTE network coverage in 5 Markets. I wonder how they will blend it in with their "4G Network" they claim they already have. Good luck migrating those current "4G" AT&T handsets to 4G LTE
