Verizon Wireless has taken issue with one of Apple's lawsuits against Samsung, which seeks to prevent Samsung from importing select Android smartphones into the U.S. "The requested injunction of certain Samsung products will harm Verizon Wireless and U.S. consumers," said Verizon said in a court filing. "It also has the possibility of slowing the deployment of next-generation networks — such as Verizon Wireless's — contrary to the stated goals of the U.S. government." Verizon Wireless sells several of Samsung's Android devices, including the Droid Charge and Galaxy S Continuum. Apple and Samsung have a handful of lawsuits over smartphone patents in a growing number of countries around the world.

Good for you Verizon

I'm glad to see that one of the service providers is stepping into this ridiculous lawsuit happy environment and actually sticking up for the consumers. Yes, Verizon is protecting it's future assets and interests in the matter. Yet, Verzion makes that point that competition is good for the market. If only they would same the same about the At&t and T-Mobile merger. But that's another story. I'm glad that one of the carriers finally spoke up about the issue.
