Apple's board of diretors today issued a statement announcing the death of former CEO Steve Jobs. The statement said, "We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today. Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve. His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts." Jobs was largely responsible for bringing products such as the iPhone and iPad to market. He was 56 years old.

Team,
I have some very sad news to share with all of you. Steve passed away earlier today.
Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.
We are planning a celebration of Steve's extraordinary life for Apple employees that will take place soon. If you would like to share your thoughts, memories and condolences in the interim, you can simply email rememberingsteve@apple.com.
No words can adequately express our sadness at Steve's death or our gratitude for the opportunity to work with him. We will honor his memory by dedicating ourselves to continuing the work he loved so much.
Tim

A very influential pioneer... Bon voyage, and thanks.
Rest in Peace 😢

R.I.P steve
Diretors?
Now, I've never heard of a "board of diretors." What do they talk about on that board? Was he the chairman or CEO of the "board of diretors?"
Spell "directors" correctly, edit before you post articles especially when you're talking about the death of the worlds greatest innovators.
Thanks

Well said 😎
See you in the iClouds, Steve. 😢
To Be Honest...
However, there's no denying he had intelligence, vision, and courage. Despite the reputation, innovation wasn't his strength. He was more about putting existing products together into clean, efficient packages and marketing them well.
The one area that I haven't seen mentioned here is his huge impact on the entertainment industry.
One word: Pixar.
In light of Mr. Jobs death...
Whether you loved or hated him, there is simply no denying that Steve Jobs was an impressionable figure. He helped turn Apple around and made it into what it is today. You got to give the man credit where credit is due. I'll confess to having a love/hate relationship with Apple.
Having said that, I'm retiring this name on here. It was fun fighting with justfine, bluecoyote, etc. but I'm done.
For the record, I never really hated Apple. I just liked pushing peoples buttons.
I really do hate Sprint though. They can sink just like the Titanic.
