ARM Debuts Tools to Help Android Devs Boost App Performance
Nov 28, 2011, 8:59 AM by Eric M. Zeman
ARM today launched the ARM Development Studio 5 Community Edition software development toolkit for Android developers. This free version of ARM's coding tools is meant to give a wider range of developers access to tools that will help Android applications run more efficiently on devices using ARM chipsets. Using the tools will let developers include native ARM code in their apps, which can improve Java performance by up to four times, as well as increase power efficiencies. The DS-5 CE is available for free for use by individuals and businesses with annual revenue of less than $100,000, and up to 10 employees. It can be downloaded from ARM's developer site.
