Jan 9, 2012, 11:40 AM: Now for phones!
Jan 9, 2012, 11:35 AM: Next product category: appliances. It looks like they're saving the best - phones - for last.
Jan 9, 2012, 11:30 AM: (Oh how embarrassing. Just in time to announce new TVs, the giant main projector on stage (presumably made by LG) just went half-dead. The colors are all wrong.)
Jan 9, 2012, 11:28 AM: First up: home entertainment. Sit tight for phones.
Jan 9, 2012, 11:28 AM: Now for actual US product announcements!
Jan 9, 2012, 11:25 AM: Oh man. He's talking about "blast chiller" technology in a new fridge. It can chill a can in five minutes (versus the usual 40.) "Perfect for a cold beer on a hot summer day." Now I'm thirsty. Damn.
Jan 9, 2012, 11:22 AM: (now talking about smart fridges)
Jan 9, 2012, 11:22 AM: So no actual phone announcement YET, just hyping general LG technology so far.

Jan 9, 2012, 11:08 AM: In mobile phones, LG improved its brand awareness in the US. (Notably absent was any mention of sales or market share.)
Jan 9, 2012, 11:05 AM: Wayne Park giving a business update. Sales up, yada yada.
Jan 9, 2012, 11:03 AM: John Taylor, VP of Public Affairs & Comms for LG Electronics USA, is on stage introducing Wayne Park, President & CEO for LG Electronics USA. John's cracking jokes about CES and Vegas.
Jan 9, 2012, 11:01 AM: One minute until washing machines, fridges, and TVs so big they must be made for Andre the Giant. Oh, and the Spectrum for Verizon.
Jan 9, 2012, 10:55 AM: Five minutes!
Jan 9, 2012, 10:54 AM: The phone on stage perfectly matches leaked photos of a phone rumored to be called the "Spectrum". The rumor mill also speaks of a January 19th release date.
Jan 9, 2012, 10:51 AM: Last year at this event, LG introduced the Optimus 2X, although the T-Mobile version (the G2x) wasn't announced until later in the year. This year, the US seem to be more of a focus with a Verizon phone on stage.
Jan 9, 2012, 10:43 AM: We're seated right up front to bring you LG's new LTE phone for Verizon as it's announced on stage. The event starts in just under 20 minutes.
