Hands On with the LG Connect 4G

The LG Connect 4G is designed to be a relatively affordable LTE phone for carriers like MetroPCS. While it's small in size and price, it's no slouch in features. We spent some time with it.

At first glance, the LG Connect looks a lot like the Samsung Galaxy Attain. The size and shape are similar, the buttons layout is exactly the same, and they're both low-cost 4G LTE smartphones for MetroPCS.
But upon closer examination, the LG Connect is actually a much higher-end phone, with a much better display, camera, and processor than the Galaxy Attain. It's more like a mini-Esteem.
Looking across all carriers, the Connect is essentially the same phone as the Viper for Sprint. *
The body of the Connect feels very nice. It's a tad heavy and thick, but the small width and height and rounded shape make it very pocket-friendly. The materials and textures feel nice in the hand. The design is crisp and refined.
The top button is flush with the surface, yet easy enough to feel and mash down. The volume button works well.
Running down the feature list you'll find a dual-core processor, front camera, and 5-megapixel main camera. The 4-inch display uses LG's Nova technology, and looks very nice. It fills most of the front of the phone, giving a good ratio of screen size to phone size.
The phone responds quickly, and has a smattering of LG customizations to standard Android. The camera is one great example. It has an excellent interface with easy on-screen controls.
MetroPCS hasn't announced pricing yet, but at the right price, this cute little phone could be a hit.
