Verizon Adds Fine-Tuned Data Limiters to Family Accounts

Verizon Wireless today refreshed its Usage Controls service to give account managers more granular control over monthly data usage. The new Usage Controls, which cost $4.99 per line per month, will let parents or account holders set data limits by the megabyte, as well as block game, application, or ringtone purchases. The Usage Controls also still allow account holders to manage voice and messaging features.

Holy crap...

Is there anything Verizon doesn't try to nickel and dime to customers? Why would acct management stuff not be free? How do ppl voluntarily have a service like that?
What they need to do is come up with a smartphone famiy share plan and integrate the service in AT NO CHARGE.
And they're bitching about AT&T and their BS upgrade fee raise? They're all the same.

$4.99 PER line ??

That's almost $25.00 for a 5 line account... yeah, great value there.

On the flipside - T-Mobile, family allowances, $4.99, No matter how many lines.... just sayin'
What makes you think Verizon puts their value on cheap? I actually was using my buddys T-Mobile phone and was quite surprised at the speed diffrences. Not a speed test but real world use. Now to some people the diffrence is miniscual. In that case its...
