So I upgraded... and need some help?
Right, my phone updated and now it's not letting me do anything. I followed the steps on the Samsung site and everything seemed to go fine, but now I can't select any apps or anything. The touch screen only responds for switching home screens, and it barely does that. Every minute, the screen goes black (everything except the battery meter and the time), then comes back with the 'no service' symbol, which is replaced after a couple seconds with the bars. Restarting didn't help.
What the hell is going on?
Still doing it after I hard reset, too.
Factory data reset is all you can do legitly elsewise off to xbm or dsc.

Data Connectivity Issues?
So did anybody else get this on release day and end up with major data issues?
I got the phone about 1pm and thankfully decided to eat lunch in the same plaza, as I realized the data was not connecting, despite showing 4/5 bars and "4G LTE" I went back to the store and explained the issue. They played with the phone and admitted it was not working right. They swapped the SIM, still nothing. They swapped the phone, now spotty at best but still freezing, so they tried yet another SIM. While this is going on, a guy comes in to exchange his SGII for the Skyrocket and his initial use is showing the same issues.
I asked for a refund, and they are going to give it to me, but they asked me to keep it a few days and they'd waive any re-stocking fe...

Can't anybody get it right!!!!!
HTC gets the battery wrong with a measly 1620mAh battery but gets the resolution right with qHD. Samsung gets the battery right with 1800mAh but gets the resolution with 800x480 a 4.5" display!!! SMFH!! 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄
CONCLUSION:
There is NO perfect phone out there, yet.

Using the Skyrocket as a GPS
Hi.
Does anyone have physical expierence using the Skyrocket as a stand-alone GPS.?? I hope to go exploring some mountains, the Appalachian Trail, and other Rural areas where there is No Cell phone coverage from any carriers. Does this phone allow you to utilize it as a stand-alone GPS, when you are way out-of range of cell towers.??
Thanks,
Now, I may be wrong here because there may be a way to download and have Google maps on your phone to have the navigator pull from, but I don't think you can do what you're asking. When you use the maps, it's locating you by gps, but I believe that is...

Voice dialing
Purchased the Skyrocket a month ago and have been trying to2 get it to voice dial over blue tooth. The ATT store said it didn't have that feature and to use the BlueAnt Q2 which incorperates that feature. After purchasing it I found it didn't work. Called tech support and they said that the phone supports voice command dialing but it is blocked by ATT which will sell the service. In this day an age it should be mandatory for hands free driving. I feel as if I have been had

DM initialization is not ready. Check network or SIM
I purchased this phone on January 2nd, and it worked fine. About 1 1/2 weeks ago it began showing the "DM initialization is not ready. Check network or SIM" whenever I tried to check for a software update. I took it to the AT&T store today and they replaced the SIM card with a 4G LTE SIM card; however, when I tried to check for a software update a few minutes ago, it gave me the same message so I had to restart the phone in order to complete the process. Does anyone have a clue what could be causing this error? The phone is not rooted.

Turning off 4G?
Has anyone found a way to disable 4g from being on constantly and sucking the life out of the battery? Are there any decent apps out there that will do the trick?
LTE is automatically off if you're not in an LTE area, there's no real way to turn the HSPA+ off though since it's on the same antenna as 3G. It's a pity you can't, too. I'd like greater control over which one is active, switching to 2G when the phone...

Rebooting Issue?
Hi everyone,
I just recently purchased this phone for my boyfriend and we have been experiencing random rebooting with it. Has anyone else had this issue? I tried to take it back to ATT and they gave me some problems which I don't want to get into because it's a complicated situation, so before things get even messier with trying to exchange the phone, I was wondering if anyone had any solutions to this problem?
Thanks!!

LTE 700 / 1700
Does this lead anyone else to believe that an AT&T/MetroPCS LTE roaming deal is in the works?
I know I posted in the AT&T forum about this, but this is relevant here as well D:
I think its more the proposed merger with TMO and the use of their AWS spectrum on LTE.
What? No. AT&T has AWS (1700) spectrum.

Can anyone verify if Speakerphone is half or full duplex?
Phone scoop lists the speaker phone as only "half;duplex," but lists the speaker phone for the galaxy S2 (SGH-i777) as "full-duplex." Can anyone verify what the Skyrockets (SGH-i727) phone is? I am not sure I trust the information on Phone Scoop when I can't verify this anywhere else.
Thanks!
We tried it on our actual review unit, and it seems to be half-duplex.
