Do we really need all these different OS's?

Why keep reinventing the wheel when it's working just fine?

I think competition is good. I'm looking forward to a fresh approach and it has an Android compatibility layer so it is easy for the Android apps to be available for it.

There were at this time 6 major smartphone operating systems

Blackberry
Windows Mobile
Palm/Web OS
Symbian
iPhone
Android

In the last 3 years, two of those options (Palm/WebOS and Symbian) ...
