New Bogeyman

Guess Sprint will need a new bogeyman to blame their woes and lackluster performance on once the iDEN network is shutdown.
Their old CDMA network will be the new scapegoat.

My vote for their new "bogeyman:" Humphrey Bogart.
Sprint has had too many Bogeymen, Im sure the end is near.

I'll miss IDEN

I remember when i first had IDEN- boy it was awesome. I remembered during the awful situation that happened on 9/11/2001 and how my phone worked when no one else's did.

Wish luck to IDEN whomever it goes to- perhaps public safety network or whatever the DOJ/FCC plan to do with it.

Anyway, RIP IDEN and thanks for making me lots of money during the NXTP and NXTL days, having a great CEO, CTO, and COO, making money hand over fist (of the company itself) and of the great reception and free incoming call plan that i had then had the all unlimited.

It definitely was great at the time and for its time. But Lets face it IDEN would never be able to compete in today's smart phone dominated world. Too bad there was never a good way to combine IDEN and CDMA... They tried it with those hybrid phones an...

iDEN is dead. They're literally shutting off the power and cutting the backhaul connections on June 30th. It's not going to anyone.

Sprint has already re-purposed much of that spectrum for CDMA 800.
