EVDO Speeds

Asking this question on VZW users who don't have LTE, what speeds are you getting for downloads? I understand its not as good as HSPA+. Just toying with the idea of getting a VZW Moto G for an extra fun line for myself. And for this line fast bandwidth is not really needed. Just something for some web page browsing and irc use.
hi i got my moto g dont know about a speed test but this phone is real fast compaired to my lg optimus exceed it put my old phone in dial up mode its great good job motorola only 99.00 cant beat it

Real world speeds range from 0.5 to 1.3Mbps. Which is not bad, after all.

With the moto G. Other phones may have lesser performance.

Root?

Anyone managed to get root access on the G? I understand you can't unlock the bootloade, but just simple rooting with out a custom recovery, no flashing roms and stuff. More like debloating the phone and maybe some root only apps?

on your reveiw of the moto g what o/s platfrom does it have cdma
The Verizon (prepaid) version will be CDMA.

Motorola is currently listing Android 4.3 for all versions of the Moto G, but it's possible that by the time Verizon releases it next month, it will come with 4.4.

Interesting...

I thought Verizon required of all future smartphones to have LTE yet the Moto G obviously doesn't.
All future smartphones intended for postpay are 4G. This will be for the prepay segment, which is relegated to 3G only. They have been taking existing 4G phones and rebuilding them as 3G only with a different name, such as the LG Lucid -> Optimus Exce...

That's only for the contract lineup.

This is strictly for prepaid.
