Do Stores sell unlocked phones?
The real question about these new Motorola and Nokia stores is if they sell unlocked phones that have ALL of the features that the phone carriers usually cripple?
I hope so. If it means that I have to shell out a few hundred dollars directly to the phone manufacturer so my phone can access WIFI without incurring the expensive phone carriers charges, then I'm all for these stores!!

I don't see how they could do otherwise, since they're not selling the service or require a contract. Plus, other than Verizon & the Bluetooth Debacle, I don't know of any other carriers that have disabled any features on the phones. I guess that's w...

that always amused me, nobody wanted kyocera because the name was too foreign but they were made in san diego, they all wanted the great american motorola... I would think "At least buy a LG, the people that make those at least pretend to like us"

Why a store anyway?
Maybe I'm just ignorant about Motorola Nokia's product lines, and they also manufacture stereos and dishwashers, but what is the point of a store? The Nokia Experience centers make sense, somewhat, but since the majority of both company's products are sold by the carriers, why are they doing this? I can't imagine them moving too many RAZRs & SLVRS at the no contract price.

The only thing I can think of is there are some phone, the Nokia N93 as one example that U.S. carriers won't carry, and there are U.S. consumers out there that desire a feature packed mobile phone, and so therefore Nokia IS making these phones availab...
