i was always told...
that the reason blackberry didn't have all this stuff was because it was a security risk. You can steal files by swiping the memory card, a lot of high level businesses didn't want their employees to have cameras in sensitive areas. So why add all this stuff so late in the game? If anything I think the lack of those features should be a good marketing strategy for RIM. Build an add campaign solely on security and being a business tool, not an mp3 player. Oh well, what do i know.
I guess they want a bigger slice of the market pie. I read somewhere that the sales of smartphones have recently surpassed the amount of 'regular' cell phone sales, so now it looks like there's even more money to be made in this niche.

I'd always wondered why manufacturers didnt just have an option to software lock the camera from functioning. Without the proper key (which only the account holder would have) the camera would be useless.
