Update Will Add Speakerphone To Chocolate
What took them this long?
I know carriers have little say so om what phones come with but come on, no speakerphone at all on your flagship phone. You got phones for free with that feature and its not included on the hottest item your pushing. I dont even want to know about the cs issues that will arrive from during these updates. Pray nothing bad happens to the software. 🙄

👿 Just came back from a VWAC and I am fuming: I went in to get a speakerphone upgrade and they scratched up my phone. Not only that but they said they had swapped (as a complimentary courtesy - who told them to do that?!?) my battery with a worn-out (looking) and scratched one. What's worse is that they NEVER performed an upgrade (because I still don't have the speakerphone capability) and still told me that it was done - even though it clearly wasn't. The VW rep tried to justify the situation by explaining that the "speakerphone" feature is still not available to-date. While I still believe VW is the lesser evil in comparion to the others, I'm utterly disgusted by the lack of prefessionalism (or knowledge for that matter) from the...

LG CU500
Maybe this means Cingular can fix the no Voice dial with their new high end CU500 from LG. Silly that a new bluetooth phone cannot use the bluetooth headset to make a call.

😲 😲 Yea I said it, I have had my chocolate for 3 weeks and it has speakerphone capabilities no update or anything.. I work for VZW and told them hey it already has one and everyone at work been using after I showed them how to use it.

has sprint offered a OTA yet?
i know this is a relatively new technology, but has any carrier offered an over the air update yet? My Cu500 has this ability also, i just doubt it will ever be that popular with carriers.
Think about it from the carriers standpoint: why fix phones for free when you can rope them in for two more years, and get them to purchase a new phone. The only way they will use this is in situations like this, where vzw is obviously saying to themselves "Doh!"
i know all phones are released with some amount of 'acceptable' bugs, i just see this as a way for the carriers to release less finished phones. Rush the phone to get it on store shelves before the holiday shopping season, and hope they have a OTA that solves some known issue before too...

Theres been multiple FOTA updates on phones that died off what seems like almost a year ago.

Sprint has been doing FOTA for the past 2 year... I've said it before, I'll say it again... "They may not be the #1 carrier, but Sprint is always the innovator, not the imitator!"

You can add it yourself now, why wait
For over a week now, anyone who has a data cable can install it themselves. Takes anywhere from 20-45minutes depending on amount of stuff(ringtones, pics, etc) on your phone.
Great now those ppl have the added expense of having to buy a data cable for something they should of had to begin with, this is not acceptable either in my opinion.

Verizon needs to get its act together
I just find it ridiculous that they let the chocolate hit the streets without a speaker phone 😳 if that wasn't bad enough now they will offer it but you have to go wait in line and take time out of your life just to have the most basic feature.
Verizon must of been in a hurry to make that money and evidently screwed up. You could tell with all those commercials they put out.
Speakerphone is the most useless feature on a phone!!! Why would you ever use speaker when you can use a headset???
